ISEE 2026
Thanks to Emmanuelle Batisse for presenting her work looking at polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and childhood cancer at ISEE 2026 in Munich. We are finding modest associations between PAHs and childhood cancer in our Canadian national study.

EPICOH 2026
Congratulations to Abbey Gibb, who presented her thesis work at the EPICOH2026 conference in Stockholm. We look forward to sharing the findings of her work on occupational exposure to radiation and Parkinson's disease more widely with a publication down the road.

Monica presented at the CSEB virtual conference. Her presentation was titled “Hair Nickel and Chromium Levels in Individuals with Fixed Metal Orthodontic Appliances: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis”.
New Publication!
A new study led by Brianna Frangione in Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention in Canada examines how employment changes during the early COVID-19 pandemic affected mental health among older Canadian adults.

A new paper has been published, in collaboration with our lab, titled “The interplay of home and work neighbourhood environment characteristics and associations with active commuting”.

Dr. Villeneuve, together with several collaborators on the CIHR-funded Colombian census health cohort project, recently participated in a two-day planning meeting in Cartagena, Colombia.
The meeting brought together investigators from Canada and Colombia to support coordination and collaboration across institutions as the project advances.
